Legendary heavy rock drummer Tommy Aldridge has explained why he wasn't part of Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH's final show, "Back To The Beginning", which took place last July in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

In a newly released audio clip, Aldridge emphasized that there was never any ill intent behind his absence.

However, the drummer admitted he wasn't invited to participate in the final show.

"I wasn't invited to be at Ozzy's last show," Aldridge said.

"That's as much as I need to say.

I wasn't invited.

And I'm not gonna crash someone else's party." Despite his absence, Aldridge expressed admiration and respect for Osbourne.

He recalled the high watermark of his musical career was working with Randy Rhoads in Ozzy's band, but it came with a low watermark from a personal perspective due to the tragic loss of Rhoads.

Working with Randy had been both inspirational and devastatingly depressing at the same time.

When reflecting on his working relationship with Osbourne, Aldridge stated that he was already an established drummer before working with Ozzy and was one of the first international drummers to support BLACK SABBATH.

He paid tribute to the late singer as a "friend and brother" and called him a "force in music." Aldridge is best known for his work with BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, the PAT TRAVERS BAND, Ozzy Osbourne, WHITESNAKE, THIN LIZZY, Ted Nugent, Gary Moore, and Vinnie Moore.

The drummer has joined forces with fellow artists such as Rudy Sarzo, Brad Gillis, Rick Hughes, and Michael Sweet for various projects.

Despite being 75 years old, Aldridge remains the most veteran active heavy rock drummer still delivering remarkable power, speed, precision, and relentless double-bass work.
