KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer has reunited with former BLACK ’N BLUE bandmate Jaime St. James to write and record a new six-song EP, Bombshell.
An official music video for the title track is now available, and the EP can be ordered via the duo’s website at thayerstjames.com.
Bombshell features six tracks: “Bombshell,” “Bulletproof,” “Time Of My Life,” “Tonight’s The Night,” “Magnetic,” and “I Wanna Fly.”
“Our story has always been about friendship first,” Thayer and St. James said in a joint statement. “From the beginnings of BLACK ’N BLUE, before the tours, the records, and the craziness of the ’80s, we were two friends writing songs and chasing dreams together. That bond has never changed.”
The EP marks Thayer and St. James’ return to songwriting together following their 2022 release, The Lost Tapes. Originally formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1981, BLACK ’N BLUE released four albums through Geffen Records before disbanding in 1989.
St. James explained that the new material was not released under the BLACK ’N BLUE name because the project features only two original members. Thayer added, “Luckily, he has a little more time now,” referring to St. James’ current schedule and creative process.
