Canadian rock band Toque will make their way to Calgary's Prince's Island Park on Wednesday, July 8, as part of the Roundup MusicFest supporting a star-studded lineup featuring Billy Idol, David Lee Roth, and Sloan.
This special event marks one of only three tour dates for Toque in July, with shows scheduled in Beaumont, AB, Weyburn, SK, Dauphin, MB, Vancouver, BC, Menahga, MN, and Rothesay, NB.
In an interview, Toque's guitarist Cory Churko revealed that the band first formed to play a charity show in Winnipeg, MB in 2014.
The group specializes in re-recording classic rock tracks from iconic Canadian bands like Rush, Tom Cochrane, Kim Mitchell, Streetheart, Headpins, and Harlequin.
As part of their tribute project, Toque has welcomed special guests including members of the original acts they're covering.
After building a reputation through prestigious events around Canada, NHL and CFL appearances, and festival performances, Toque began recording their own songs in 2015.
Their debut track 'Never Enough' gained popularity among fans before being featured in the Netflix film 'Aftermath.' The band's follow-up single 'Fighters,' which they performed with Def Leppard, Joan Jett, and Foreigner in Canada, was a commercial success.
