Canadian hard rockers Triumph have announced their 50th anniversary tour without original bassist Mike Levine due to his physical inability to participate.

The classic lineup of vocalist Gil Moore and guitarist Rik Emmett will be joined by a trio featuring Phil X on lead guitar, Todd Kearns on bass, and Brent Fitz on drums.

This marks the first live experience for this reviewer with Triumph, despite being a fan since their FM radio hits of the early 1980s.

The band delivered an impressive performance, showcasing their hard rock/metal roots with hits like 'Magic Power', 'Spellbound', and 'Never Surrender'.

Rik Emmett's lead vocals were particularly memorable, as was his humorous stage presence.

The band's setlist featured a mix of classic tracks from the 1970s and early 1980s, as well as some solo spotlights.

This tour marks a triumphant return for Triumph, and fans can look forward to seeing them again soon.

The performance began with Gil Moore taking over vocals on 'When The Lights Go Down', while Rik Emmett took center stage for his solo, accompanied by the two drummers and guitarist Phil X.

The setlist included crowd-pleasers like 'Follow Your Heart' and 'Magic Power', which featured a memorable sing-along.

The performance ended with a shower of sparks during 'Fight The Good Fight'.

"The show featured elaborate visuals and stage design, including vintage photographs and artifacts onscreen overhead.

Rik Emmett's solo spotlights showcased his impressive guitar work, while Gil Moore took center stage for an emotional speech.

Despite some indulgences in solo spotlights, the performance was a testament to Triumph's enduring legacy.

The band's 50th anniversary tour is set to continue with their distinctive sound and iconic style intact.
