On August 8, 2025, metal titans Trivium ignited the Ronnie James Dio Main Stage at Bloodstock Open Air with a crushing performance that paid tribute to one of thrash metal’s most legendary tracks: Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” The set captured the raw intensity and precision that Trivium are known for.
As the opening riffs rang out across the festival grounds, the crowd erupted in roaring sing-alongs, surging pits, and an electrifying atmosphere that carried through the entire song.,Delivering the iconic Metallica classic with razor-sharp musicianship and unmistakable energy, Trivium honored the legacy of thrash while stamping the performance with their own powerful stage presence.
The moment became a standout highlight of the night, uniting thousands of metal fans in a shared tribute to one of the genre’s defining songs.,Trivium recently released the three-song EP Struck Dead via longtime label Roadrunner Records in October 2025.
The EP features the tracks “Bury Me With My Screams,” “Struck Dead (Pain Is Easier To Remember),” and “Six Walls Surround Me.” Trivium shared a video for the title track, which can be seen below:,In an interview, bassist Paolo Gregoletto explained that the creative catalyst behind the EP was revisiting and performing Ascendancy in full.
