Legendary rock band TWISTED SISTER has cancelled its planned 50th-anniversary concerts after guitarist Dee Snider resigned, citing health issues.
The decision was announced on February 5 via social media by vocalist Jay Jay French.
According to French, the cancellation was due to Snider's sudden and unexpected resignation.
The band had originally scheduled a three-song reunion show at the Metal Hall Of Fame in Agoura Hills, California for 2026.
However, with Snider's resignation, all dates from April through the beginning of summer have been cancelled.
This includes what was supposed to be TWISTED SISTER's highly-anticipated 50th anniversary tour.
In a separate announcement on February 5, Dee revealed that he had been diagnosed with degenerative arthritis and underwent several surgeries for the condition.
He also admitted that his body could no longer handle the demands of rock 'n' roll.
The iconic frontman expressed frustration over being forced to cancel shows due to health issues, saying "I don't know any other way to rock." However, he acknowledged that his limitations made it impossible to continue performing at the same level as before.
The cancellation comes after Snider spoke about why he changed his mind about returning to the road in a November 2025 interview.
He stated that his decision was based on personal health scares and not wanting to be "that guy where people go, 'Yeah, time's passed,' and make people feel old" by continuing to perform.
This move marks another step in TWISTED SISTER's ever-evolving history.
The original run ended in the late '80s before briefly reuniting in November 2001 for New York Steel.
In a more recent one-off reunion, the band performed at the Metal Hall Of Fame in Agoura Hills, California, but with Ojeda absent and a temporary fill-in guitarist.
