VOIVOD has confirmed the official release of its long-awaited documentary 'We Are Connected', set for a Christmas 2024 launch.

The film, which premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal in July 2024, explores the band's 40-plus-year legacy from its origins in Jonquière to global success, including performances alongside IRON MAIDEN, RUSH and METALLICA.

The documentary features exclusive interviews with metal icons including Tobias Forge, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Jason Newsted, Zach Blair and Tom G.

Warrior, as well as Ivan Doroschuk.

The band has cleared rights to all music used in the film, overcoming years of complex publishing agreements.

A version will be available for festivals, Blu-ray and online platforms.

The documentary follows the life of co-founding guitarist Dennis 'Piggy' D'Amour, whose death in 2003 is cited as a pivotal moment in the band's history.

The release follows the 2026 launch of the 'Symphonique' live album, a collaboration with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, recorded live at the Grand Théâtre in Québec City on June 4, 2025.

VOIVOD is also set to embark on a 10-city U.S.

tour in October, with support from Richmond-based metal-punk trio BAT.

Frontman Denis 'Snake' Bélanger will miss the European tour this summer to attend to a family matter, with former VOIVOD and current E-FORCE vocalist Eric Forrest stepping in as temporary replacement.

Forrest performed the first show of the 2026 summer tour on July 10 at the Slaughter Club in Paderno Dugnano, Italy.

The band's 2023 album 'Morgöth Tales' was released via Century Media, The Orchard and Sony Music and won the 2023 Juno Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Album.

The documentary is directed by Felipe Belalcazar and produced with full access to the band's archives.

A previous attempt to produce a documentary with Canadian documentarian Sam Dunn in 2006 did not materialize.
