Canadian metal legends Voivod have issued a heartfelt call to fans worldwide, asking for support in their time of need.
The band has revealed that frontman Denis 'Snake' Bélanger's partner Christine McDonald has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer.
The cancer has spread to her liver, ovary, and abdominal wall, making treatment an intensive and ongoing process.
Despite some positive results from treatment so far, the road ahead remains grueling for McDonald and Bélanger.
"We're reaching out today for someone that is part to the Voivod family," said the band in a statement shared with supporters.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover medical supplies, travel, treatment costs, and living expenses during this time.
The fundraiser aims to ease the financial burden so McDonald can concentrate fully on recovery.
In addition to the fundraiser, supporters can also back McDonald's work directly by purchasing her original pieces through her official website.
McDonald is an accomplished visual artist who continues to create amid treatment.

The band underscored the physical and emotional toll the situation has taken on both McDonald and Bélanger.
"The cancer has spread, and while treatment is ongoing and showing some positive results, it is intensive and demanding," they said.
A GoFundMe page has been set up on McDonald's behalf to help cover medical expenses during this challenging time.
The page explains that the cancer has metastasized to her liver, ovary, and abdominal wall, and notes that treatment involves daily injections, medication, chemotherapy sessions, hospital visits, and numerous medical appointments.
