Canadian sci-fi metal innovators Voivod have issued the following update regarding the Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior video game, set to release in conjunction with a highly anticipated album.
The band has revealed a major visual update for the game, which was completely reimagined by key artist Costin Chioreanu.
This new artwork aims to better represent the tone and identity of the project as development continues.
Voivod drummer Michel 'Away' Langevin also confirmed that the band is currently working on multiple projects simultaneously, including a brand new setlist for their upcoming tours with Midnight and BAT in 2026.
In a separate update, the band shared news about Christine McDonald, the partner of Denis "Snake" Bélanger, Voivod's vocalist.
Unfortunately, she was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer, which has spread to other parts of her body.
Treatment is ongoing, but it has become intensive and demanding, significantly impacting her ability to work and leaving financial strain on both Christine and her husband Denis.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help cover medical supplies, travel costs, treatment expenses, and living expenses during this time.
The band expressed gratitude for fans' support and asked that people share or contribute in any way they can.
Voivod will be embarking on a short North American run with BAT before heading across Europe for their summer tour dates.
The band is set to play at several festivals, including Satan Fest in Iceland and Pitfest in the Netherlands.
They are also listed to perform at other notable events such as the Azkena Rock Fest in Spain and the Masters of Rock Fest in the Czech Republic.
Voivod's drummer Michel 'Away' Langevin spoke about the band's activities, mentioning their work on multiple projects simultaneously, including a new album and a Quebec City Symphonique Live record.
They are also involved in creating the first official video game inspired by Voivod, which is currently under development.
The band expressed gratitude to fans for standing with Christine McDonald through this challenging time and asked that people contribute to their GoFundMe campaign if possible.
