Progressive black metal pioneers ENSLAVED have officially revealed their forthcoming studio album, "Mið", set for release on October 30 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album, an Old Norse term meaning "center" or "middle", explores themes of balance, origin, and the infinite reach of the present moment. The band has also released the new single "Solar Will", which serves as a tribute to the sun and its mythological significance in Norse tradition. The single's official video was created by Kolibri Media, ENSLAVED's long-time creative partner based in Bergen.

"Mið" follows the band's thematic journey through mythology and natural forces, continuing their legacy of blending sacred traditions with complex modern soundscapes. The album builds on previous works such as 2020's "Utgard" and 2023's "Heimdal", which also centered on mythological rites of passage. This release marks a new phase in ENSLAVED's evolution, emphasizing dialogues between past and present, and between individual truths and universal experiences.

The new album features eight tracks, including "Non-Being", "I Am Ice" featuring Johan Sara Jr., and "Spirit Helper" featuring Kevin Kicking Woman. The band, formed in 1991 by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson, has released 17 albums over three decades, establishing themselves as a cornerstone of the progressive metal scene. Their live performances remain renowned for their intensity and technical precision.

Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson are the primary creative forces behind the band, with additional contributions from Arve "Ice Dale" Isdal, Håkon Vinje, and Iver Sandøy.
