Guitarist Toby Knapp has announced the impending release of Waxen's eighth album, Blood Paths To Acosmic Portals.

Due this summer, Knapp reveals that he's working hard to strip down his sound and eliminate thrash metal influences, aiming for a more barbaric approach.

This change comes after what Knapp considers were too many genres in the band's last few albums.

In an effort to refine his signature style, Knapp admits it's been difficult to resist the ingrained traditional riffs that have become a part of his writing process.

However, he remains committed to pushing forward with his vision for Blood Paths To Acosmic Portals.
