New Jersey thrash metal band WHIPLASH has announced the worldwide release of their new album "Roar", set for November 27, 2026 via Time To Kill Records. The album marks the band's eighth studio release and follows their 1984 formation in Passaic, New Jersey, during which they became a defining force in the East Coast thrash metal scene. The record features ten tracks, including "Bullet Train", "Sonic Asylum", and "Who Stole My Whiskey", all built on the band's signature riff-heavy style and live energy.

Tony Portaro, the band's constant vocalist and guitarist, has remained the core of WHIPLASH throughout its history, guiding its evolution from early cult records like "Power And Pain" to its 2009 reemergence with "Unborn Again". The album was initially released in a limited form during the band's European "Campaign for Musical Destruction Tour" with NAPALM DEATH under the title "Thrashquake", before being reissued with the new title "Roar" and new artwork by legendary illustrator Ed Repka. The official worldwide release through Time To Kill Records includes a full international campaign and expanded distribution.

WHIPLASH's current touring lineup consists of Tony Portaro on vocals and guitar, William Winton on bass, and Mitch Hull on drums. The new album continues the band's legacy of uncompromising underground thrash metal, offering a raw, unfiltered sound focused on riffs and live intensity.
