UK black metal legends Winterfylleth have signed with Napalm Records and announced their ninth studio album, The Unyielding Season, due out March 27.
Marking the band’s first release for Napalm, The Unyielding Season is a sweeping social commentary framed by meticulously crafted poetry and prose. Where the band’s previous album warned of an ominous force on the horizon, the new record confronts that threat as a lived reality—rebelling against the turmoil, fear, and pressure imposed by an unrelenting destructive power.
Winterfylleth have shared their first taste of the album with “Heroes Of A Hundred Fields,” an epic battle hymn chronicling defiance and unity in the face of oppression. Chants of “Rebellions beacons now alight” surge through the track as it builds toward a triumphant stand against encroaching evil.
Another highlight, “Echoes In The After,” adapts a poem from Sir Philip Sidney’s late 16th-century romance The Countess Of Pembroke’s Arcadia, delivering a striking and atmospheric epic rooted in literary history.
The album also features a cover of Paradise Lost’s “Enchantment” and is available in multiple formats, including two LP gatefold editions and digital.
