Canadian thrash metal outfit Wreck-Defy are preparing to release their new single, “Under the Sun,” accompanied by an official lyric video.
The track serves as the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming album, Dissecting the Leech, set for release on February 20 via Massacre Records.
“Under the Sun” explores the psychological toll of war, focusing on the trauma and lasting scars carried by those who survive it. A guest vocal appearance from Amanda Kiernan adds additional weight and intensity to the song’s subject matter.
Produced by Matt Hanchuck and Juan Urteaga, Dissecting the Leech delivers 48 minutes of sharp-edged thrash rooted in old-school fundamentals while driven by modern urgency. The album is positioned as a creative high point for Wreck-Defy as they continue to refine and expand their approach to contemporary thrash metal.
The tracklist includes “Apocalypse of Hope,” “Under the Sun,” and “Revolt.” Dissecting the Leech features Greg Wagner on vocals, Matt Hanchuck on guitars, Greg Christian (formerly of Testament) on bass, and David Allan on drums.
With Dissecting the Leech, Wreck-Defy further cement their standing as one of the most uncompromising and authentic forces in modern thrash metal, combining veteran pedigree with renewed intensity.
