Progressive rock legends YES have been forced to postpone their previously announced UK tour, scheduled to kick off on April 22 at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
The tour was set to feature a nine-date trek across the UK, culminating in a two-night run at the prestigious Palladium in London on May 3 and May 4.
As part of the tour, YES was planning to perform their classic 1971 album "Fragile" in its entirety, as well as a selection of songs from across their illustrious catalogue.
The postponement comes after guitarist Steve Howe announced that he requires an essential operation that will necessitate recovery time.
In a statement via social media earlier today (Thursday, April 2), YES said: βThe upcoming YES 'Fragile' UK and EU tour has had to be postponed as guitarist Steve Howe requires surgery that needs recovery time.
This decision has been made to ensure that Steve can return to the stage in full health and deliver the performances that fans deserve.β YES is working hard to reschedule the UK and EU shows for a later date, with full details expected to be announced after Easter.
Fans are advised to retain their tickets as they will still be valid for the rescheduled dates.
Steve Howe and YES thank their UK fans for their continued support at this difficult time.
Howe's highly influential guitar work has been a cornerstone of YES's sound since he joined the band in 1970, making his debut appearance on "The Yes Album" in 1971.
During his time with YES, Howe has recorded 19 studio albums and has explored an innovative blend of classical, jazz, folk, and rock influences through his unique guitar style.
