Yungblud has won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance for his live cover of Changes by Black Sabbath.
The performance was recorded last July at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK, during Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert, Back To The Beginning. The all-star lineup featured Frank Bello on bass, Nuno Bettencourt on guitar, II on drums, and Adam Wakeman, with a cameo from Sharon Osbourne.
In his acceptance speech, Yungblud paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, thanking the Osbourne family and dedicating the performance to everyone at the guitar shop where he grew up. He described the moment as an honor and a celebration of rock music’s legacy.
The win follows Yungblud’s public tribute to Ozzy after his death, calling him “the greatest of all time.” In July 2025, he shared footage of a private moment with Ozzy ahead of Black Sabbath’s farewell show, recalling the significance of Ozzy gifting him his gold cross during a shoot for his song “The Funeral.”
Speaking to Louder earlier in 2025, Yungblud addressed comparisons to Ozzy, citing their shared unfiltered nature. He recalled Ozzy telling him that honesty without self-censorship is what makes a true rock star—a moment Yungblud said hit him “like a ton of bricks.”
