In a new interview with Bill Kopp of Metro Silicon Valley, Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti was asked about the possibility of a follow-up to the band's latest album, Facemelter.
Meniketti responded that album releases don't have the same significance as they did in the past, and while fans might enjoy hearing some new music from Y&T, it's not necessarily about selling tickets or making money.
Despite this, Meniketti didn't completely rule out a new Y&T single or album in the future.
He stated that getting together to write songs is "not as simple" but that a new release is still a possibility.
The interview comes after Meniketti went public with his prostate cancer battle last year and has since been in complete remission after receiving radiation treatment.
He discussed his diagnosis and treatment during an appearance on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, saying that prostate cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer if caught early enough, with a survival rate of over 90 percent after 10 years.
Meniketti is the only surviving member of the original Y&T lineup, which also included Joey Alves and Alex Stahlberg, while two founding members, Phil Kennemore and Leonard Haze, passed away due to lung cancer complications.
The band's current lineup consists of guitarist John Nymann, drummer Mike Vanderhule, and bassist Aaron Leigh.
