Add a Band or Album
Our music database uses information from MusicBrainz, an open music encyclopedia.
Email-verified users can request a missing album and its tracks. If the band is missing from our database, we will add it with the album after admin approval.
Band requirements
If the band is not already in our database, it must have an existing profile on both:
- Encyclopaedia Metallum (Metal Archives) — to confirm that the band meets our inclusion requirements.
- MusicBrainz — to provide the band’s information and discography.
You must provide the URL of the band’s Metal Archives profile.
If the band already exists in our database, you do not need to provide its Metal Archives URL.
Album requirements
Every album request must link to an existing release page on MusicBrainz.
Provide the direct URL of the specific release you want to add. For example:
https://musicbrainz.org/release/f1b07b7c-df4f-4f0a-a012-34656b45a103
The URL must point to a specific release, not an artist page, release group, or search results page. Choose the edition with the tracklist you want to upload tabs for.
Before submitting
If the band or album is missing from MusicBrainz, add it there first. If a new band is missing from Metal Archives, it must also be listed there before you submit your request.
All requests are reviewed by an admin. Once approved, the album and its tracks become available for tab uploads.
