Nocte Obducta is a Black Metal band from Mainz, Germany. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Marcel V.A. Traumschänder out of the remains of his first band "Desîhra" in 1995.
Trademarks are a quite technical approach combined with very melancholic melodies and highly poetic German lyrics as well as many overlength-songs.
By now, Nocte Obducta are among the elite of German Black Metal, without using clichés or massive ideology in their lyrics, but sophisticated, elegant poetry of melancholy, death, depression, nature...
Unfortunately, Marcel V.A. Traumschänder announced the band's split in early June of 2006. An album entitled Sequenzen einer Wanderung, recorded before the band's split, was released in 2008.
The band reconstituted themselves under the name Dinner auf Uranos and released an album in 2010. According to Marcel himself this is considered an official continuation of Nocte Obducta. The band resumed using the name Nocte Obducta in 2011 and released the album Verderbnis (Der Schnitter kratzt an jeder Tür) during the same year.
