ABBATH has canceled all remaining shows scheduled for 2026. No official reason was provided for the decision. The announcement follows a brief performance at the SaariHelvetti festival in Tampere, Finland, which ended abruptly after just two minutes.

During that set, frontman Abbath, whose real name is Olve Eikemo, did not wear his customary corpsepaint or body armor and reportedly threw his guitar before exiting the stage. Festival organizers later confirmed the show ended due to singer Abbath Doom Occulta's health problems. ABBATH's Finnish drummer Ukri Suvilehto addressed the audience at the time, stating the singer had been struggling with health issues and apologized on the band's behalf.

The band previously performed in Buenos Aires in November 2019, where a two-song set was marred by visible inebriation and internal tensions. In a 2019 statement, Abbath admitted to battling addiction and committed to a rehab program to achieve long-term sobriety. He later reported being sober for two months and in good health by early 2020.

ABBATH's latest album, Dread Reaver, was released in March 2022 via Season Of Mist. The project has continued touring in support of that release, though all 2026 dates are now canceled. No further updates on future performances have been announced.
