Alice Cooper Announces Autobiography Release and New York Book Tour
Alice Cooper has announced the release of his definitive autobiography, Devil On My Shoulder, published by Da Capo on October 6, 2026 in North America. The book details the evolution of his persona and career, offering a candid account of his life from the early days of the rock group to his current status as a cultural icon.
A special book tour has been launched in New York City, with events scheduled for October 7 and 8. On October 7, Cooper will speak at Barnes & Nobles 5th Ave at 12 pm, moderated by Anthony Decurtis, and at The Strand at 7 pm. A special appearance at New York Comic Con on October 8 will be moderated by Stevie Van Zandt.
The memoir explores key moments in Cooper's life, including the origins of iconic imagery such as Cold Ethyl, the guillotine, and the dead babies, as well as his struggles with addiction, the creative process, and personal relationships. He addresses his long-term marriage and reflections on guilt and regret.
Cooper also reveals that the book presents a balanced view of his relationship with the persona of Alice, describing the 'devil on his shoulder' as a voice that once shaped his decisions, now understood as both a source of inspiration and deception. The book will be available for purchase at AliceCooper.com with limited tickets for in-person events.
