Swedish metal titans Amon Amarth have unveiled their forthcoming album The Allfather Awakens, set for release on October 2 via Metal Blade Records. The ten-song album draws inspiration from Norse mythology, with Oden, the Norse deity of war, wisdom, and death, serving as the central theme. Though not a concept album, each track presents an epic tale of conflict and sacrifice. The new single "Eight Legs Of Thunder" features a galloping riff and a powerful chorus, inspired by Sleipnir, Oden’s legendary eight-legged steed. A music video for the track blends a modern American Western with surreal mythological imagery.

The album was recorded across two sessions at producer Jacob Hansen’s studio in Denmark. Amon Amarth began songwriting during tours, allowing for focused creative development. The band adopted a more traditional guitar sound, returning to Marshalls instead of modern amplifiers. The music was composed before the lyrics, establishing a strong tonal foundation.

The Allfather Awakens will be performed live in a new production inspired by Oden’s Golden Hall. The tour spans from October to November, beginning in Manchester, UK, and concluding in Lisbon, Portugal.
