In a recent interview on Gabbing With Girlfriends podcast, Black Sabbath's legendary bassist Geezer Butler discussed the band's attempts to record new material during the Ozzfest tour in 2001.

According to Butler, they wrote around eight songs and completed at least six, with producer Rick Rubin expressing interest in producing an album in 2002.

However, Butler admitted that he felt the tracks were subpar and chose not to proceed with their release.

Butler had previously touched upon this unreleased material in a 2023 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, stating that 'Scary Dreams' was the best of the bunch but still felt too forced.

A founding member of Black Sabbath, Butler is known for penning iconic tracks such as 'War Pigs', 'Iron Man', and 'Paranoid'.
