At San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson revealed to Steve Harkins of TalkShopLive that his upcoming solo album will feature a collaboration with his son, Austin.

Austin, 35, is a musician best known as the former frontman for the metal bands RISE TO REMAIN and AS LIONS.\ \ Dickinson stated, as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "I'm really lucky that my kids, in particular my oldest son Austin, is a writer.

So the conversations that we have, he bounces ideas off me, I bounce ideas off him.

And he's a musician as well, and he's a great singer.

He had three albums.

He was in a band called RISE TO REMAIN.

They did a couple of albums.

And then he [sang in] a band called — it was his band, actually — AS LIONS, and they had a bit of a hit and stuff.

But it's tough trying to make a living [playing an up-and-coming band].

I mean, he toured the States and everything and had radio hit.

So he got into script writing, which he's very, very talented.

But that's no guarantee of success.

You just gotta keep plugging away.

But he wrote a tune for me on my new record.

And when we were recording it, he came round the studio and was just loving it.

And it's gonna be one of the key tracks on the record.

And I'd love to work with him again.

I mean, he's what I would describe as a pure creative.

His whole life is doing stuff.

And you've gotta put it somewhere." \ The follow-up to "The Mandrake Project," released in March 2024 via BMG, is set for release in early 2027.

Dickinson confirmed, "Tracks will be out this year, a little bit, so people can hear a little bit of it." He added, "I'm pretty busy in '27.

And I think everybody's gonna be very happy with what I'm busy with — in every sense of the word." \ Dickinson recorded 16 tracks for the new solo album over a three-week period in early 2025.

The album was recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California, with his touring band: keyboardist Mistheria, drummer Dave Moreno, bassist Tanya O'Callaghan, and guitarists Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund.

In February, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser shared photos of him with Bruce at Studio 606 and revealed he plays percussion on the new LP.

\ In a new Rolling Stone interview, Dickinson discussed his health and the new album, saying, "I got two metal hips, I got a busted Achilles I had stitched back together five years ago, various contusions and lumps and bumps.

But I'm still running around like a lunatic, and the voice is doing great." \ He also emphasized the live recording approach: "I just finished a solo record: We did 16 tracks in 21 days, all 100 percent live.

It's like the anti-A.I.

generation." \ The new album will be released in early 2027, with the same band that toured with Dickinson in Europe in 2024 set to accompany him on the 2027 tour.

Dickinson previously confirmed that the band recording the new album will be the same one that toured with him in Europe and will tour with him in 2027 when the record is released.

\ Additionally, the reworked version of his 1994 album "Balls To Picasso," now titled "More Balls To Picasso," was released in July 2025.

The "The Mandrake Project Live 2025" North American tour, which included performances in Anaheim, New York, Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, and Canada, as well as festival appearances at Rocklahoma and Louder Than Life, concluded with a return to Brazil for The Town festival in São Paulo.

The tour began on August 22, 2025, at the House of Blues in Anaheim.

Prior to the April 12, 2024 Whisky A Go Go show, Bruce last performed with his solo band at Wacken Open Air in Germany in August 2002.

Roy "Z" Ramirez, who played guitar on "Balls To Picasso" and co-wrote and produced multiple solo albums, is not part of the touring lineup."
