During a recent appearance on Count's Kulture podcast, former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick discussed wearing Ace Frehley's makeup after his exit from the band.

Reflecting on his time with KISS, which began in 1984 and continued until the group's 1996 original-lineup reunion tour, Kulick said he was glad that he was never approached to rejoin the band and wear Frehley's iconic "Spaceman" persona.

He stated that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley made the right decision by choosing Tommy Thayer over him for the role, citing Thayer's ability to play Ace's riffs "super clean" and his talents as a musician.

Kulick also discussed the band's decision to keep Frehley's makeup alive through current KISS members Eric Singer and Thayer.

He acknowledged that some fans might disagree with their choice, but believes it allows them to maintain an essential part of KISS's iconic image.

Additionally, Kulick spoke about his own experience playing in tribute bands, including COLD GIN, which was a key factor in Thayer's selection as the band's guitarist.

Kulick has been open about his past experiences with KISS and his time spent touring or recording with various other artists, including Meat Loaf and AVANTASIA.

His latest venture involves offering period-correct guitars inspired by his KISS era through his own brand.

The former guitarist is also scheduled to perform at the upcoming "KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas" weekend-long event at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas on November 14-16.
