In a new interview with Jesea Lee, Chad Gray spoke about his recently launched "30 Years Of Madness" series of live appearances.

The first gig took place on April 24 at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Gray was backed by Hellyeah guitarist Christian Brady and other musicians.

Gray discussed how he is not opposed to releasing new music under his own banner but acknowledged that the current landscape for promoting music has changed significantly since MUDVAYNE's last release.

"It's about having those tools," he said.

"It's about having the right people plugged in to be able to let people know that you have new music." Gray added that although MUDVAYNE fans may not have been blown away by his solo project, he is still excited about it and plans to continue with more shows.

The "30 Years Of Madness" concerts mark Chad's first-ever solo performances and are taking place during a year when MUDVAYNE is not scheduled to do any touring.

It also serves as an opportunity for Gray to play songs from Hellyeah, which has been inactive since early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the interview, Gray spoke about how he came up with the idea for his solo gigs and how they fit into his schedule.

"I was writing, recording or touring nonstop in one band or another for 20 fucking years," he said.

"And Vinnie passed." He continued by explaining that after taking some time off following the death of Vinnie Paul Abbott, he returned to MUDVAYNE and put the band back together.

The interview covered Gray's experiences with both MUDVAYNE and Hellyeah, his thoughts on promoting music in the current landscape, and how he came up with the idea for his solo project.
