Iconic Testament frontman Chuck Billy has announced the release of his memoir, Holding My Breath: The Two Testaments Of Chuck Billy, on November 10, 2026, through Permuted Press. The book is structured as two interlocking narratives: the Old Testament detailing the rise of Bay Area thrash metal and the formation of Testament, and the New Testament chronicling Billy's cancer survival, spiritual journey, and cultural identity as a Native American and Mexican-American.

The memoir, co-written with Dave Erickson, includes a foreword by Rob Halford of Judas Priest and an afterword by Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God. It also features a foreword by Rob Halford and an afterword by Randy Blythe, two of metal’s most revered voices, who bear witness to Billy’s enduring legacy.

Billy, who survived a 2001 cancer diagnosis, has long been recognized for his advocacy of Native American communities, including receiving a California State Assembly recognition and participating in The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian’s exhibition on Native musicians.

The book will be available for pre-order at chuckbillybook.com. Events to promote the release include an in-store appearance in Phoenix, AZ on October 29 at Changing Hands Bookstore/Bar, and parties in Seal Beach, California and Dublin, CA on November 10 and November 10 respectively.

Additionally, the release coincides with the announcement of the first single from VOICES OF EXTREME, titled Stoned Babies, released on BraveWords Records, with the full album set for release in 2026.
