COAL CHAMBER has canceled its appearance at this year's edition of the Louder Than Life festival, as drummer Mikey "Bug" Cox is set to undergo his final surgery related to his ongoing cancer treatment.

Cox had previously revealed his stage three cancer diagnosis in April and underwent a year-long battle with radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery before being declared cancer-free earlier this month.

The band's frontman Dez Fafara praised Cox for his bravery during their recent live performances at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas and Inkcarceration Music And Tattoo Festival in Mansfield, Ohio.

COAL CHAMBER completed a U.S.

tour as support act for MUDVAYNE last year after COVID-19 nearly took Fafara out in 2021, and had also canceled their previously rescheduled "Fiend For The Fans" U.S.

tour in January due to health concerns.

Cox's statement on social media expressed gratitude for the band's support throughout his cancer journey and looked forward to returning to the stage with COAL CHAMBER as soon as possible."
