CROWBAR Announces New Album In Progress After 'Zero And Below'
CROWBAR has confirmed it will begin writing its next studio album in early 2024, following the release of its 2022 album "Zero And Below". The band, formed in 1990 from the ashes of THE SLUGS, has long been known for its doom metal sound fused with hardcore elements, drawing influence from bands like THE MELVINS, TROUBLE, and SAINT VITUS. The new record is expected to be completed quickly, with members stating they will write on a three-day-a-week schedule to maintain momentum.
Kirk Windstein, the band's founder and lead vocalist, emphasized that the majority of riffs are written by him, while Matt Brunson and Pat Bruders contribute significant songwriting, with Bruders having co-written much of the material on DOWN's recent album. The band will work closely with drummer Tommy Buckley, whose location in Covington, Louisiana, is about 10 to 15 minutes from the rehearsal space near Phil Anselmo's residence in Folsom. The studio for production and recording is located in Metairie, Louisiana, where "Zero And Below" was produced, mixed, and mastered by Duane Simoneaux.
98 landmark album "Odd Fellows Rest". Windstein remains the only original member of the band and has guided CROWBAR through multiple lineup changes and twelve critically acclaimed albums.
