UK progressive death metallers Cryptic Shift have unveiled their latest single 'Cryogenically Frozen', which comes off the band's Overspace & Supertime full-length.
The track, set to drop on February 27 via Metal Blade Records., is a flurry of jazz fusion-esque movements that combine metal with elements of Cynic, Pestilence, and Allan Holdsworth.
Issues vocalist/guitarist Alexander Bradley describes the song as bursting into life after a cinematic opening, showcasing the band's new character 'The Recaller' in a sci-fi adventure.
Overspace & Supertime continues the conceptual themes of their debut Visitations From Enceladus, delivering a new standard of technical thrash/death metal showmanship and fantastical storytelling.
The album was produced by Jack Helliwell and mastered by Greg Chandler (Esoteric, My Dying Bride) and features stunning artwork by Jesse Jacobi.
Overspace & Supertime will be released on CD and digital formats as well as 2xLP in various color variants.
Cryptic Shift will celebrate the release with a Record Release Show at Boston Music Rooms in London on February 28, followed by appearances at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore, May 21-24.
The band's lineup consists of Alexander Bradley on vocals and guitars, Joss Farrington on guitars, John Riley on bass, and Ryan Sheperson on drums.
Fans can follow Cryptic Shift on Spotify for updates when their new album is released this year.
