Cleopatra Records has announced the reissue of Glenn Danzig’s 2010 album Deth Red Sabaoth, originally released in 2010 and now set for re-release on August 21.
The ninth studio album by Danzig, and the first since Circle Of Snakes in 2004, quickly became the band’s biggest hit since Danzig 4, released 16 years earlier.
The self-produced album features a wholly organic sound crafted using Glenn Danzig’s 1970s Kustom tuck’n’toll bass amps, with his guitar driven through them.
Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly and guitarist Tommy Victor were key collaborators in the project, with Danzig stating, "You’ll hear real reverb, real tremolo on this album," and he was right.
Metal-archives.com described the album as "a glorious return to the bluesy doom-n-gloom that made metal’s man in black the most evil name to enter thy holy household," while teethofthedivine.com noted, "If you missed that slightly bluesy and heavily doomy sound of Lucifuge, you’ll be pleased to hear it return in full force on this record." The original Deth Red Sabaoth was released in multiple formats including a CD box set and a limited edition picture disc, which have since become highly sought after.
Collectors have reportedly paid up to $50 for the original CD, $150 for the picture disc, and $250 for the Deth Red Sabaoth Fanbox.
Glenn Danzig’s 2022 vinyl reissue also sold for over $100.
This reissue expands on that demand, with seven distinct physical formats now available: CD, Black Vinyl Box Set, Black Vinyl, Cassette, Black/Red Haze Vinyl Box Set, Black/Red Haze Vinyl, and Blood Splatter Horror Swirl Vinyl.
A digital edition is also available.
Pre-orders for the CD, vinyl, vinyl box set, and cassette editions are available at https://cleorecs.com/search?q=danzig+deth+red+sabaoth, with the digital edition accessible at https://orcd.co/danzig_dethredsabaoth.
The album includes tracks such as "Hammer Of The Gods," "The Revengeful," "Rebel Spirits," "Black Candy," "On A Wicked Night," "Deth Red Moon," "Ju Ju Bone," "Night Star Hel," "Pyre Of Souls (Incanticle)," "Pyre Of Souls (Seasons Of Pain)," and "Left Hand Rise Above.""
