BAD BRAINS bassist Darryl Jenifer is set to release a new instrumental album, 'The Weather Channel', on July 17 via Org Music.

The album will be available in various formats, including LP, CD, and digital editions.

This new release finds Jenifer exploring exploratory jazz and fusion elements, threading them with dub, psychedelia, and punk influences.

The result is a deeply immersive and unpredictable listen built on fluid improvisation, deep grooves, and expansive ensemble interplay.

To coincide with the announcement, Jenifer has released the album's first single, 'Sacred Love II', along with a limited seven-inch vinyl release featuring an exclusive B-side from his new punk project PALM BEACH.

'The Weather Channel' follows Jenifer's acclaimed 2010 solo debut 'In Search Of Black Judas'.

The album features a powerhouse quartet including drummer and percussionist Ben Perowsky, guitarist Karma "Chogyi" Marco, and keyboardist John Medeski.

Notably, the record also includes appearances from celebrated collaborators Jack DeJohnette and Karl Berger.

Across eleven tracks, the album presents nine new original compositions alongside fresh reinterpretations of two BAD BRAINS songs, reframing familiar themes through a richly textured jazz lens.

The release marks Jenifer's continued evolution as an artist, pushing far beyond genre expectations with a record that feels expansive, soulful, and entirely singular.
