FEAR FACTORY's founding guitarist Dino Cazares has ruled out working again with any of the band's former members, explaining that he has âmoved forward.â He later added: âThe only reason I continue addressing this is because fans keep asking.
Iâve already moved on and have said that many times.
Unfortunately, some people get upset if I donât answer the question and others get upset when I give an honest answer they donât want to hear.â Back in November 2024, Dino spoke to the Life Is Peachy podcast about the circumstances that led to the 2020 departure of the bandâs original singer Burton C.
Bell.
Cazares said: âPeople think that I sued Burton, but thatâs not true,â he clarified.
âit was Raymond and Christian who sued us individually.
We had separate lawsuits.
They sued us separately so they can get separate money.â One of the biggest misconceptions is that people thought that Cazares had a personal vendetta against Burton, but in reality, it was more about the financial situation.
Burton filed for bankruptcy and lied in court, resulting in Raymond and Christian taking away his assets.
When you go through a bankruptcy, the bankruptcy court sells your assets to try to make money back to pay back the people you owe money to,â Dino continued.
âSo when I found out that Burtonâs assets were up for sale, my lawyer contacted the court of Pennsylvania and said, âHey, look, weâre interested in buying this FEAR FACTORY trademark.ââ Cazares also addressed the possibility of the classic FEAR FACTORY lineup reuniting at some point in the future.
âListen, sure, itâs easy for all four of us to get together, but it wouldnât be easy to do business with them, it wouldnât be easy to write songs with them and it wouldnât be easy because somebody would have to be in control of that ship and that would be me.
Not anybody else.â FEAR FACTORY played its first headlining concert with Silvestro and Webber on May 5, 2023 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.
