German extreme-metal band Firtan has released a new video for the track "Kalika’s Tongue". The video is the third single to be shared from the band's fifth album, Helios, which will be released internationally on October 2nd via AOP Records. The album explores the theme of personal enlightenment through struggle, positioning self-mastery as a form of conquest in a world of distraction and decay.
Helios combines black metal's atmospheric ferocity with death metal's crushing intensity, enhanced by the inclusion of acoustic and electric violin, ritualistic chants, and analogue synthesizers. The album's tracklist includes "Himsa", "Kalika’s Tongue", "Ambrosia", "Solis Currus", "Ascension", "Wide Open Eye", "Helios", "The Form Revealed", "Revealing Prana", "The Hierophant Way" featuring James Dorton of Ne Obliviscaris, and the Bathory cover "Man Of Iron". The full artwork and tracklist are available through the band's official channels.
A separate announcement confirms the release of Bangalore Choir's album Rapid Fire Succession: On Target Part II on BraveWords Records, but this is not related to Firtan's upcoming project.
