Twenty years and 10 albums into one of the most successful hard rock careers of the modern era, Five Finger Death Punch has released "Legacy," the bandâs definitive statement of its sound and evolution.
The new album arrives following the release of the single "Eye Of The Storm," which has climbed to No.
1 on Billboardâs Mainstream Rock chart for the 18th time, extending the bandâs record for the most consecutive No.
1s in the chartâs 45-year history.
Founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory has declared "Legacy" as the bandâs most representative record: "This album is our loud and clear answer to the question of whether a band can stay true to the signature sound that has become the soundtrack to millions of fansâ daily lives and still write something new and exciting.
Legacy is an absolute monster, an unapologetic monument to how far weâve come, and a clear signal that weâre not even thinking about slowing down.
If you asked me to pick the one record that best represents the essence of this band, I would hand you this one." The band has also unveiled the new song "Nails In The Coffin," which Bathory describes as a reflection on overcoming adversity: "Ivan never defines the meaning of his lyrics.
He doesnât want to rob the fans of their own interpretation, so a song means whatever itâs supposed to mean to each listener.
Thatâs by design, and I love that about him.
But to me, âNails In The Coffinâ is about burying the things that tried to bury us.
Every doubt, every prediction that we wouldnât last, every catastrophe that was supposed to be the last nail in our coffin.
20 years later, we are still here and weâre the ones holding the hammer." The digital version of "Legacy" is available now, with physical formatsâstandard CD, vinyl (clear), cassette, and multiple exclusive editions including Amazon, Walmart, and Revolverâset for release on September 18.
The album features the tracks: "Legacy," "De Oppresso Liber," "Eye Of The Storm," "Nails In The Coffin," "In Time," "Unscathed," "Jokeâs On Me," "Everybody Lies," "Shelter," and "Scapegoat."
