FLOTSAM AND JETSAM has confirmed the release of its new album, 'Rats In The Temple', set for August 28, 2026, via Napalm Records.

The album marks four decades since the band's debut, 'Doomsday For The Deceiver', which earned a 6K rating from Kerrang! magazine.

The release celebrates the band's enduring legacy, following key albums including 'No Place For Disgrace' (1988), 'Flotsam And Jetsam', 'The End Of Chaos', 'Blood In The Water', and 'I Am The Weapon'.

The current lineup of FLOTSAM AND JETSAM is considered its strongest ever, featuring vocalist Eric "A.K." Knutson, guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, drummer Ken Mary — formerly of ALICE COOPER and ACCEPT — and bassist Bill Bodily.

The band has emphasized that while artificial intelligence has been used in the creation of certain video content, it was not employed in the actual recording of the album.

A.I.

tools were used sparingly to generate visual elements that aligned with pre-existing creative concepts.

Knutson stated that A.I.

can be a useful tool for generating ideas, but cautioned that reliance on it without understanding song structure could lead to difficulties when recreating music live.

The band affirmed that no A.I.

elements were used in the final recordings, maintaining full creative control over the music.

This release continues FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's long-standing tradition of innovation and resilience, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of heavy metal."
