A Meal Train fundraiser has been launched for former SNOT and SEVENDUST guitarist Sonny Mayo, who recently suffered a heart attack and underwent emergency triple bypass heart surgery.

Mayo's condition is stable, but he still requires extensive care and recovery time.

The Meal Train aims to provide emotional and financial support during this challenging period.

Organizer Megan Wright notes that the first month after the procedure is crucial for Mayo's recovery, as he will need full-time care to avoid infections and other complications.

According to Mayo's heart surgeon, a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery was necessary to improve blood flow to the heart.

During the procedure, three coronary arteries were bypassed using blood vessels taken from another area of the body.

This type of surgery is often used to treat patients with severe coronary artery disease.

Mayo, who left SNOT in April 2025 after just three months, has since been replaced by Doc Coyle.

Prior to his departure, Mayo was part of a podcast discussion with Joe Rogan, where he discussed his decision to undergo stem cell therapy due to the unpleasant side effects of heart medications.

However, it's unclear if this treatment had any impact on his current condition.

Mayo was fired from SEVENDUST in March 2008, just before the release of their album 'Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow'.

He went on to play with other bands and has since recovered from his heart attack.
