French folk metal band Skáld have announced their signing with Austrian label juggernaut Napalm Records.
Their debut album Ørlǫg is set to release on September 25 via the renowned label.
This marks a pivotal step in the band's journey, as they now have the resources and support to spread their unique sound globally.
The album Ørlǫg explores themes of Norse mythology and the power of individual choice, with each song describing a situation or place where decisions must be made.
Skáld use instruments fitting of the time – Nordic fiddles, different forms of harps and lyres, horns, kannels, and whistles – to bring their arrangements to life.
Skáld's latest single "Draumakona" has been released, showcasing the band's ability to craft catchy Nordic folk melodies.
The song explores the unique role women play in divination and shamanic vision, with Skáld constructing an antiphony between individuum and community through their vocal arrangements.
The album Ørlǫg will be available in various formats, including vinyl, CD, and digital release.
