Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke joined Buenos Aires-based hard rock band Airbag for a special performance of Bob Dylan’s classic song ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’.

The impromptu show took place at Velez Sarsfield in Argentina, where Clarke celebrated Dylan’s 85th birthday with the band.

A video of the performance is available to watch.

Airbag consists of Patricio (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Gaston (bass, vocals), and Guido (drums, vocals) – all brothers who formed the group in 1999.

They have since released eight studio albums and two live albums.

Clarke’s current solo tour of South America is wrapping up soon.

He recently appeared on local radio station Urbana Play 104.3 FM in Buenos Aires, discussing his time with Guns N’ Roses, including a memorable encounter with David Bowie at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992.

“It was one of the best days of my life,” Clarke recalled about meeting Mick Ronson.

“Mick is someone I idolized, so having a really nerdy chat about guitars was incredible
Sometimes you’re afraid to meet your idols, but when something is important in your life, you have to take the risk and go for it.” After returning to the United States, Clarke will join Billy F Gibbons and other notable musicians in Kings Of Chaos on June 6 at 4 Bears Casino & Resort in New Town, ND.
