London-based metal band Green Lung has announced the release of their new studio album, Necropolitan, set for release on Friday, September 11.

The album is a sonic exploration of occult themes and British folklore, drawing inspiration from London’s underground rock history and landmarks such as Le Macabre and The Process Church of the Final Judgement.

The record was recorded at Rockfield Studios in January 2026 with producer Tom Dalgety, known for his work with Opeth and Ghost.

The band aimed to capture their live sound in a raw, unfiltered form, emphasizing heavy riffs, frenzied Hammond organ lines, and haunting Mellotrons.

In addition to the album, Green Lung has revealed a European tour titled Dance to the Grave Tour MMXXVI, scheduled for later this year.

The tour will feature special guests High On Fire, with support from Gnome.

The tour poster was designed by the band’s frequent collaborator, Richard Wells.

A video directed by Billy Howard Price has premiered, featuring a suburban family rendered helpless by the song’s occult power.

Necropolitan follows Green Lung’s critically acclaimed discography, which includes Woodland Rites (2019), Black Harvest (2021), and This Heathen Land (2023), the latter of which reached number one on the UK Official Rock and Metal Album Chart.

The band has toured internationally with Clutch, Opeth, and Unto Others, and has performed at major festivals including Roadburn and Download."
