Swiss modern metal outfit ILLUMISHADE has released a new single, "Paralyzed", which sees the band stepping out of their creative cocoon and taking full control of their artistic vision.

Featuring vocalist Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf, formerly of Celtic folk metal giants ELUVEITIE, "Paralyzed" is a dark and pulsating testament to the group's originality.

The song boasts an undeniable hook immediately before a crushing whammy-ridden riff takes you under its somber wings.

With Fabienne stating that they've come to a point where they're defying comparisons to other contemporary metal bands, "Paralyzed" taps into the state of not being able to let go of a love once lost.

The song's lyrics are a hymn for the broken-hearted, and it wouldn't be a true ILLUMISHADE song without a hint of hope woven in somewhere.

Guitarist Jonas Wolf adds that they found a place where a towering heaviness meets a soothing kind of melancholia.

This new single is a statement of ILLUMISHADE's independence after making a deliberate decision to return to full independence.

The band, consisting of Fabienne Erni on vocals, Jonas Wolf on guitar, Mirjam Skal on keys, Yannick Urbanczik on bass, and Marc Friedrich on drums, has come a long way since their debut album "Eclyptic: Wake Of Shadows" in 2020.

Since then, they've released their sophomore album "Another Side Of You", through Napalm Records, touring extensively across Europe and the U.S.

Their music is a sweeping blend of cinematic grandeur, majestic melodies, and virtuoso musicianship that's entirely their own.

With this new single, ILLUMISHADE has emerged from their creative cocoon and taken matters fully into their own hands.

As Fabienne Erni and Jonas Wolf navigate this new era of independence, "Paralyzed" stands tall as a blueprint for all things to come.

The song is out now.
