In a new interview with link text Metallerium, former ANTHRAX vocalist John Bush opened up about his thoughts on success and legacy in the metal scene.
He acknowledged that despite not achieving massive stadium success like some of his peers, he's still proud of Armored Saint's enduring influence and cult following.
"We're very fortunate to still be making music after 41 years," Bush noted.
"I think I'm honest with my career, and somebody probably wouldn't go ahead and say, 'Hey, I never really made it." He added that he's always focused on creating quality music that reflects his own artistic vision, rather than chasing commercial success.
This approach has led to the band releasing several critically-acclaimed albums over the years, including their latest effort "Emotion Factory Reset", which arrived on May 22 via Metal Blade Records.
The album features diverse musicality and lyrical themes, with production handled by Joey Vera and mixing provided by Jay Ruston.
Bush's comments come amidst a busy year for Armored Saint, who were inducted into the Metal Hall Of Fame in July 2023 and saw their documentary "Armored Saint: Band Of Brothers" premiere at Harmony Gold Theatre in May 2023.
