MASTODON has confirmed the release of its long-awaited new album, 'Marrow Deep', set for August 28 via Loma Vista Recordings.

The record marks the band's first full-length album without founding guitarist/singer Brent Hinds, who was fired in March 2025 and died five months later in a motorcycle accident.

'Marrow Deep' is also the band's first studio album to feature new guitarist Nick Johnston and significant contributions from keyboardist João Nogueira.

The album was co-produced at MASTODON's West End Sound in Atlanta by Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, with mixing handled by Andrew Scheps.

The recording process began after the completion of the 'Leviathan' 20th-anniversary tour and was intensified following personal tragedies, including the deaths of Hinds and drummer Brann Dailor's mother, Michele Lawrence, both in February 2025.

The band stated that the album serves as a tribute to these individuals, with lyrics and musical themes deeply rooted in their personal grief.

The second single, 'Snakes For Dinner', features guest vocals from QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's Josh Homme, who previously collaborated with MASTODON on the song 'Colony Of Birchmen'.

The band will celebrate the album's release with 'The Poisonous Weapons Tour', running from September 16 in Orlando to October 24 at Sick New World Dallas.

The tour features DEAFHEAVEN and ALCEST as supporting acts.

All material on 'Marrow Deep' was created by the remaining band members — Troy Sanders, Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher — with no musical contributions from Brent Hinds.

The album was completed after a period of intense creative work and emotional processing, with the band emphasizing that the record is both a personal and cathartic achievement."
