Mercyful Fate will headline the Bloodstock Open Air festival on Friday, August 6, 2027, returning to the main stage at Catton Park. The performance follows a live set filmed on August 13, 2022, at the Ronnie James Dio Stage, where the band delivered a full performance of classic tracks including The Oath, A Corpse Without Soul, The Jackal Of Salzburg, Curse Of The Pharaohs, A Dangerous Meeting, Doomed By The Living Dead, Melissa, Black Funeral, Evil, Come To The Sabbath, and Satan’s Fall. Formed in Copenhagen in 1981, Mercyful Fate became a defining force in the early European heavy metal underground, known for their sinister atmosphere, twin-guitar harmonies, and King Diamond’s distinctive vocal range.

Classic albums such as Melissa and Don’t Break The Oath remain essential records in heavy metal history. The band will perform with original members King Diamond, Hank Shermann, and the full lineup. This marks the band’s return to Bloodstock following their 2022 appearance.
