Metallica has confirmed its next live performance, scheduled for October 1 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The show is part of the band’s ongoing tour, with the full itinerary available at https://www.metallica.com/tour/.

In addition, Metallica: Album By Album (Motorbooks), authored by music historian Martin Popoff, will be published on September 15, 2026.

The hardcover book, featuring over 200 photographs and Popoff’s detailed commentary, examines each of the band’s 11 studio albums, from Kill ‘Em All to 72 Seasons.

What sets the book apart is its all-star contributor lineup, including Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel, Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, Grammy-winning producer Will Putney, Queensrÿche vocalist Todd La Torre, Cannibal Corpse drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, and YouTube personalities Anthony Fantano, Mike Kupris, and John Gaffney.

Their insights form a roundtable discussion that captures the band’s evolution, songwriting breakthroughs, and behind-the-scenes milestones.

The book places each album within the broader context of heavy metal history, offering readers a fresh perspective on Metallica’s legacy.

It is available for pre-order at https://geni.us/MetallicaAlbumByAlbum and will be released in hardcover with 240 pages, priced at $40.00 USD and $52.99 CAN, with ISBN-13: 9781577155782.
