Miss May I, the Ohio-bred metalcore band known for their emotional depth and technical prowess, has officially announced the release of their new album, 'No Place For Me,' set for October 2 via Solid State Records.

The band also premiered the music video for the new single 'Hand Me A Halo,' which showcases gritty guitar work and phlegmatic, furious vocals that fans describe as physically impactful.

Levi Benton, the band's vocalist, revealed that 'No Place For Me' is a deeply personal project that captures a journey of self-discovery and emotional confrontation.

'It’s everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for.

Writing it taught me who I actually am—even when that hurt to look at,' Benton said.

The album traces a full arc from its origins to its present state, with each track representing a different stage in that evolution.

The announcement marks a significant shift in the band's lineup and sound.

Following the departure of founding guitarists B.J.

Stead and Justin Aufdemkampe in 2024, Elisha Mullins has been integrated into the group as the new guitarist.

Benton described the transition as 'traumatizing' at first, noting that the original lineup had long been the creative foundation of their music.

'We didn’t even know where to start,' he said.

'But Elisha was amazing—he was a fill-in before becoming part of the band—and we were dumbfounded when he stepped in.

We’ve been with the original lineup since high school, so losing them was a huge shift.' The band has embraced this change creatively, introducing expansive soundscapes and experimental textures into the album, particularly in tracks like 'Pray For Silence,' which Benton described as the album’s most 'light' moment.

'We’ve never had soundscapes before,' he explained.

'Now, with a four-piece, we’re exploring new sonic territory—playing with keyboards and 3,000 different sounds to shape the rhythm.

That’s new for MISS MAY I.' The shift is evident throughout the record, with the band leaning into atmospheric layers and unconventional instrumentation.

The new album continues MISS MAY I’s legacy of emotionally charged, technically refined metalcore.

Their 2012 breakthrough album 'At Heart' reached No.

32 on the Billboard 200, with later releases 'Deathless' (2015) and 'Shadows Inside' (2017) debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Independent Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.

'Curse Of Existence' (2022) received widespread acclaim, with Alternative Press calling it 'one of their strongest records yet.' The band has also toured with major acts including KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, PARKWAY DRIVE, and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE.

In addition to the new album, Miss May I joined Solid State Records in 2024 and released the 15th-anniversary re-recording of their debut album, 'Apologies Are For The Weak,' which features cameos from Jake Luhrs of AUGUST BURNS RED, Brandan Schieppati of BLEEDING THROUGH, and Scott Lewis of CARNIFEX.
