In a new interview with Metal Kaoz, MOONSPELL frontman Fernando Ribeiro spoke about the prevalence of elitism and gatekeeping in the metal community.

He acknowledged that while not everyone shares his band's musical vision, he values their independence.

Ribeiro reflected on past criticisms, including those for exploring new ground with albums like 2008's "Night Eternal," which was criticized for its experimental approach.

Despite facing ridicule from fans and critics alike, MOONSPELL has continued to evolve their sound.

Their upcoming album, "Far From God," due out July 3 via Napalm Records, showcases the band's ability to experiment with new sounds while maintaining their signature dark metal style.

The band has already shared two singles from the album: the title track and "Cross Your Heart".
