Australian heavy music trailblazers NORTHLANE have announced their seventh studio album, 'Anemoia', set for release October 30 via independent label.
The album features the new single 'CUT_it', released immediately.
'CUT_it' explores the sensation of burnout, capturing a visceral portrayal of mental and physical exhaustion through a low-end groove and intense vocal performance.
The record marks a shift in tone from previous works, offering a more hopeful and human perspective while maintaining NORTHLANE's signature fusion of heavy music and electronic elements.
The album was inspired by a mind-altering set by U.K.
producer Evian Christ, prompting songwriter Jon Deiley to explore how trance music could integrate with guitar-driven heavy music.
'Anemoia' features a diverse range of sonic styles, including euphoric trance, seismic breakdowns, drum-and-bass, jungle and pop, coalescing into the band's distinctive sound.
The concept of nostalgia for an unknown past is central to the album, creating a duality between freedom and despair.
Following their No.
1 album 'Obsidian' in 2022, NORTHLANE continue to innovate in heavy music, with over 500 million streams and a legacy built on genre-defining releases.
The band recently concluded a North American tour with DAYSEEKER and is currently performing at European festivals.
They will then embark on the Hellbound cruise and another European tour this fall, again supporting DAYSEEKER."
