Bassist Rex Brown has shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes video on Gibson TV detailing the recording process of Pantera's album Far Beyond Driven.

The album, released in 1994, debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and is widely regarded as one of the most influential metal records in history.

Brown emphasized that the band had no interest in going backward, focusing instead on making each record heavier and more experimental than the last.

The session saw the introduction of Dimebag Darrell’s use of the whammy pedal and Rex Brown’s adoption of a five-string bass, marking a pivotal shift in the band’s sound.

The band’s creative process often unfolded without Phil Anselmo present, with the other members experimenting with riffs and building a sonic foundation that would shape their next releases.

Records provided the band with a jet and facilitated a rapid tour through 18 cities over 11 days, visiting two to three stores daily and engaging with thousands of fans.
