PRIMAL FEAR has officially announced the title and release date of their upcoming album, confirming it will be called 'Shadow Riders' and set for release in April 2027. COM, stating they are 'really looking forward' to its release. Two singles and music videos will be released prior to the album's launch, beginning in January 2027.
The follow-up to 2024's 'Domination' was recorded at Dennis Ward's Kangaroo Studios and produced by Mat Sinner with co-production by Ralf Scheepers and Magnus Karlsson. It was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen at his studios in Denmark. 'Domination' was released via Reigning Phoenix Music in September 2024 and sold more copies than its predecessor, according to the record company.
The new album marks a continuation of PRIMAL FEAR's signature sound, with the band's core songwriting trio of Mat Sinner, Ralf Scheepers, and Magnus Karlsson returning to the lineup. Guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca has joined the band, while former touring drummer André Hilgers is also part of the current lineup. The band has emphasized that their music is not designed for streaming devices, but for high-quality audio systems where fans can fully experience the power and depth of their sound.
This follows the success of 'Code Red' (2023), which achieved some of the band's highest chart positions to date. The announcement confirms a new chapter in PRIMAL FEAR's nearly three-decade-long career, maintaining their commitment to consistent, high-energy metal releases.
